FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Robert Kuhnz, a veteran of World War II, was selected as Marian University’s November Veteran of the Month.
Kuhnz served in World War II in the South Pacific on a Navy destroyer, as radar personnel. He was honorably discharged after his four years of service, and was one of four brothers and one brother-in law serving at the time. Kuhnz recently celebrated his 89th birthday, and currently resides at Grancare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Fond du Lac.
The Veteran of the Month contest, presented by Marian University and Sunny 97.7/96.1 WTCX, highlights one area veteran each month. Each veteran chosen will receive a plaque, an appreciation package from Marian University and Sunny 97.7’s sponsors, including a 3 credit undergraduate class which can be redeemed in winterim or summer session 2015, or in any of the adult undergraduate sessions. In addition, recipients will be honored with a monthly ceremony at Marian University, and have the opportunity to share their story on the radio.
