DULUTH, Minn. – Sophomore Kayla Kolpitcke of Marian University women’s hockey has been selected as the NCHA Player of the Week.

Kolpitcke (Powell, Wyo.) earns her first player of the week nod following an impressive outing against St. Catherine in the only game of the week for the Sabres. Kolpitcke posted the first shutout of her career to lead Marian to a 1-0 victory against the Wildcats. Kolpitcke finished with 40 saves in her second straight victory with 18 of her stops coming in the final period. She also held the Wildcats scoreless on five power-play opportunities and has now made 40 or more saves in five games this season.

Marian opens a two-game series at home against Trine Friday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. from Blue Line.
