Marian University will host author Segashus Livingston, author; Michael Coleman, playwright; Marie Justice, director of stage production; and Matthew Korda, producer of stage production of the play “Infamous Mothers” on Thursday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. in the Stayer Center for Technology auditorium.
“Infamous Mothers” is a book about 20 single black mothers who overcame impossible circumstances in their lives and are now thriving women in society. The book is based on the dissertation written by Segashus Livingston, who is completing her doctorate degree at UW-Madison. After publication, “Infamous Mothers” was adapted for the stage and is showing at the Bartell Theatre in Madison during November.
Several Fond du Lac community agencies will be available to answer questions and provide information prior to the event. Agencies will have information and displays in the Stayer Center for Technology atrium from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
“Infamous Mothers: An evening with the creators” is co-sponsored by Ebony Vision, Marian University Student Social Work Association, and the Marian University Psychology Club.
