WAUKESHA, Wis. – After a historic season, junior Lindsey Strainis of Marian University women’s hockey has been named All-NCHA for the first time in her career.
The Sabre netminder continued her strong career in a Marian sweater leading MU to the NCHA Slaats Cup Playoffs for a second consecutive season. Strainis was named the NCHA Defensive Player of the Week twice and earned a spot on the D3Hockey.com Team of the Week once this season. She put her name in the record books in several spots this season including career wins with 16 and career shutouts with seven.
Strainis also ranked in several single-season Marian records including second most wins with six, second most saves at 680, third highest save percentage at .918, the second lowest goals against average at 2.64 and the second most shutouts with two. During the season, she made 30 or more saves in 11 including a season-high 41 saves in the finale of the Slaats Cup series with Adrian. She closed out her junior campaign strong with 35 or more saves in the final four games of the season.
Strainis was previously named to the All-NCHA Freshman team following the 2015-16 season.
