Hartzell earns NACC player of the week nod

Student Hartzell Player of the weekMILWAUKEE – After posting a perfect week, senior Meg Hartzell was named the NACC player of the week announced the league office Tuesday morning.

Hartzell led the Sabres to a pair of wins in the week as Marian defeated UW-Stevens Point (8-1), the program’s first victory over a WIAC opponent, and Lakeland (9-0) in NACC action.  Hartzell paired with Emma Lewandowski for a pair of wins at No. 1 doubles, then won both of her matches at No. 1 singles. She conceded just four games in singles play; three against UWSP and one against Lakeland.  So far this season, Hartzell has posted a 5-2 record in singles action, all at the No. 1 flight, to go with a 5-1 record in doubles.

Marian is set to take on Beloit in non-conference action Sunday, Sept. 23 at 10 a.m. from Buttermilk Creek Park.
