Glen Tellock to keynote Marian University Business & Industry Awards, October 23

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Marian University will hold its 31st annual Business & Industry awards dinner at Marian’s Stayer Center for Technology & Executive Learning on Tuesday, October 23 beginning at 5:45 p.m.

Keynote speaker Glen E. Tellock, president and chief executive officer of The Manitowoc Company, Inc., will address the topic of “Preparation for Global Business.” Tellock joined the company in 1991 as the director of accounting, and has served in various positions including vice president of finance and treasurer, senior vice president, chief financial officer, until he moved into his current position in May of 2007. Tellock also serves as Manitowoc’s chairman of the board.

Prior to joining the company, Tellock served as the financial planning manager of The Denver Post Corporation, a privately held newspaper located in Denver, Colo., where he was responsible for all financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting at the newspaper.

Tellock also serves as a board member of Astec Industries, a board member and former chair of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, a board member of Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce, a board member of the National Association of Manufacturers and is an emeritus member of the dean’s advisory board for the School of Business at the University of Wisconsin.

Tellock is a certified public accountant and a 1983 graduate of the University of Wisconsin, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting.

The recipients of the 2012 Business & Industry Awards have operated successful businesses and have been heavily involved in their communities. Awards will be presented in five categories – Business of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Economic Development Award, Special Achievement Award, and the George Becker Spirit Award.

Recent past recipients of Business & Industry Awards have included: New Glarus Brewing Company for Business of the Year; Ripon Printers for Entrepreneur of the Year; Kondex Corporation for Economic Development; C.D. Smith Construction and Hornung’s Pro Golf for Special Achievement; and Bob Fale for the George Becker Spirit Award.
