Fox (Greenville, Wis.) had a dominant month in all facets leading Marian to a 13-7 record over April including a 9-1 mark at home. The second baseman hit .554 over the 20 games with 36 hits, five of which were doubles. She also went on to score a team-high 22 runs with 11 walks. On the basepaths, Fox stole 15 bases in 16 attempts setting a single season Marian record and an all-time record in the process. Fox was able to earn NACC player of the week honors after hitting .789 with an .840 on-base percentage as the Sabres swept Alverno, Lakeland, and Wis. Lutheran at home. She closed out the regular season with the highest batting average in the NACC at .529 and is on pace to be the only hitter in program history to finish with a batting average above .500.
Robertson (Reno, Nev.) helped lead Marian to their first MLC tournament appearance after leading the Sabres to a 6-2 record in April including five-straight wins to close out the month. In those eight games, Robertson led the Sabres with 22 goals and 17 assists for a total of 39 points. Robertson was able to earn his first MLC player of the week selection after posting a 21-point week to close out the regular season. He was able to produce four games with at least five points during the month of April including an 11-point game against Beloit where he scored seven times and had four helpers. Robertson closed out the regular season with a single-season record 73 points, putting him sixth in the MLC.
Marian men’s lacrosse takes on Aurora in the MLC tournament semifinals at 7 p.m. tonight, Wednesday, May 1, while Sabre softball opens the NACC tournament against Dominican at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, May 2.
