March 13, 2015

FOND DU LAC, Wis. – Ashley Flowers, an English Language Arts teacher at Green Bay East High School, was selected as Marian University’s February Teacher of the Month.

“I believe a good teacher will build relationships with students to promote trust and respect and a love for learning that will assist in individual success not limited to academics,” said Flowers. “It is my hope that, by the end of the year, my students understand the value of respect; that they learn self-discipline and motivation; that they love with their hearts and not their eyes or minds; that they understand their own self-worth and believe in themselves and their abilities; that they understand their weaknesses and challenge them rather than run from them.”

In addition to her teaching duties, Flowers serves as the assistant activities director and co-facilitator for Red Devil Pride. Flowers also helped established the annual Silent Night Event against homelessness and hunger. Flowers earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay.
