The Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes invites friends and the general public to join them for a book reception introducing Called to Serve-Ministry Stories of the Sisters of St. Agnes in Latin America and Russia. Celebrating 70 years of service in Latin America and seven years of service in Russia, the book is comprised of personal stories from over 40 sisters. Sisters who were missionaries in Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Russia will be present at the reception. Stories include the building of medical clinics and schools, missionary trips in canoes on the Río Coco, riding horseback through the jungles and enduring earthquakes, hurricanes, and civil war.
A reception is planned for Wednesday, June 24, 2015, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Marian University, Stayer Center Atrium. Stories will be shared, books can be signed, and refreshments will be served.
