MADISON, Wis. – All five golfers from the Marian University men’s golf roster were separated by a mere four shots as the Sabres opened their season with a 317 at the first round of the Culver’s Edgewood Fall Classic from Glen Erin Golf Club.
Maxwell Dye led the way for the Sabres shooting a 78, which was just one shot ahead of Caleb Martin and OJ Garcia who each scored a 79. AJ Rambaud closed out the scoring for Marian with an 81, while Jake Sherwood shot an 82 to round out the Sabre lineup.
The Sabres also had a second team in the competition who shot a 345 led by Tyler Demuse who carded an 84. Kyle Doyle, Jake Bell, and Jarryd Gano followed as they all scored an 87 with Michael Cosenza shooting a 90 to round out all the Marian golfers.
Webster sits in first place after the first round with a team score of 296 and were led by the individual leader, Brian Morris, who shot a one-under-par 70.
The Sabres close out the tournament tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 1.
