KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Senior David Britton of Marian University men’s basketball has been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District Second Team and the D3hoops.com All-Region Third Team.

Britton (Hartford, Wis.) had another dominant season leading the Marian offense.  He not only showed his long-distance shooting range within the NACC but the entire nation as his 95 made three-pointers has him sixth in the country.  Britton was also fourth in the NACC averaging 19.0 points per game and was third in the conference with 101 assists on the season before the NCAA Tournament began.  He had 11 performances during the season where he recorded at least 20 points tying a career-high with 31 points in a home victory against Illinois Tech.  He also posted a 30-point performance against Beloit where he went 10-of-14 (.714) from beyond the arc. His first double-double as a Sabre came in a road win over Concordia Wisconsin during the regular season where he scored 25 points to go with 11 assists.

Marian reached the NCAA Tournament for the third time in program history after winning the NACC Tournament for the second time.  Britton led the way throughout the conference tournament and capped off the championship run scoring a game-high 28 points with four assists in the championship game at CUW.

Britton becomes the first Sabre to earn recognition from the NABC and D3hoops.com since 2008.  He adds this award after being named an All-NACC First Team selection, his second all-conference award in as many seasons.  Britton also went on to earn NACC Player of the Week honors three times.
