Bolin and Gross sweep NCHA weekly honors

Players of the weekDULUTH, Minn. – Seniors Molly Gross and Morgan Bolin of Marian University women’s hockey have been named the NCHA players of the week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

In just her second career start, Gross (Monroe, Wis.) posted her first shutout to lead Marian to a 1-0 victory over Aurora.  Gross made 30 saves in the shutout effort to earn her first-career victory between the pipes. She made 13 saves in each of the first two periods, while also holding the Spartans scoreless on three power plays.

Bolin (Cary, Ill.) scored the lone goal of a 1-0 win to give the Sabres their first victory of the season.  The Spartans were previously undefeated and her third-period tally handed Aurora their first defeat of the season.  The goal was her fourth on the season.
