Senior Nick Klotz of Marian University men’s lacrosse and sophomore Jenna Betts of Marian University women’s bowling have been named the Sabres of the Month for March.

Klotz (Farmington, Minn.) had a dominating month on the offensive end of the field to earn Sabre of the Month recognition.  He finished the month with 37 total points, almost twice more than the next-highest point scorer, scoring 17 goals with 20 assists.  Klotz also was third in the squad with 21 ground balls and six caused turnovers.  He posted at least five points in five of six games with a season-high nine-point performance coming at home against North Central (Minn.).  Klotz would score twice with seven assists and added five ground balls with three caused turnovers in the win over the Rams.  On the season, Klotz leads the NACC with 50 points and 27 assists, while also serving as the fourth-best scorer in the conference with 23 goals.

Betts (Clare, Mich.) helped lead Marian women’s bowling to back-to-back CCIW regular-season and conference tournament championships.  Betts earned her second All-CCIW First Team selection during the month of March becoming just the second Sabre in program history to earn multiple all-conference awards.  She earned one CCIW Bowler of the Week selection during the year after a dominating weekend at the ISBPA Kegel/Midwest Collegiate Classic where she averaged 190 pins over five games.  She would also have a perfect single-pin fill percentage going 29-for-29 and was 19-for-25 in multi-pin conversions.  Individually on the season, Betts averaged 175.7 pins over 39 games with a pair of top-10 USBC finishes.  In the NCAA, she was third on the team with 198 strikes and second on the squad with 229 spares, where seven of her spares came on splits.
