The Inauguration of Andrew P. Manion, Ph.D.
Celebrating 80 years; building on the legacy
Andrew P. Manion, Ph.D., was selected as the 16th president of Marian University by the Board of Trustees and joined the Marian community on March 30, 2016, bringing with him extensive experience in higher education and student-focused leadership.
A lifelong educator, Dr. Manion’s background in higher education includes having served at Aurora University in Illinois for 17 years in a variety of roles, including executive vice president, provost, vice president for student life, academic dean, interim chief financial officer, and a period as acting president. Prior to his time at Aurora, Manion served at St. Mary’s University of Minnesota as a member of the faculty.
Dr. Manion serves the Higher Learning Commission as a member of the Institutional Action Council (IAC) and as a team chair for the Open and Standard Pathways for Accreditation. He is a member of the Division III Chancellors and Presidents Advisory Group of the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and a Board Member of the Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.
Manion has a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology and a Master of Arts in Psychology, both from Adelphi University in Garden City, New York. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Saint Norbert College in DePere, Wisconsin.
