7.3.2018 – Faces of Marian: Ben Soman
“I’m from Fennimore, Wisconsin. My mom grew up in Markesan, Wisconsin. She suggested I take a look at Marian when I was looking for my college. I wanted a small school because my high school was small, too. I also knew I wanted to be involved in campus activities. I got all of that at Marian. I graduated with my undergraduate degree in 2001 with a major in communication and a minor in public relations. Later, in 2015, I completed by masters in organizational leadership and quality.
I started working at Marian in 2001 where I worked half time in admissions and half time in financial aid. Today, I am an assistant director in the Office of Admission. I also serve as a financial aid liaison.
I really like the diversity of the campus. I like that we’re a catholic school, but welcome many students, faculty, and staff from all backgrounds. I also like that everyone fits in here, no matter what your background. For our students, it is easy to get done in time (four years), all while being as involved in campus as you want to be.
My advice to students is college is what you make of it. Make the best choices so you can make the most of your time and get the most out of the experience, but also have some fun doing it!”
