Adam Sydow recently completed his first year studying nursing at Marian University. He is a member of Marian’s cross country team, track team, and gives back to the University as a student employee for the Office of Marketing and Communications (OMC) assisting in campus photography and videography.

“I’m the Marian University 3000 meter steeplechase record holder. Well, I was the first one to do it, thus I’m the record holder. I never ran track in high school. I joined track and cross country for the team atmosphere and to stay in shape. I have enjoyed everybody that I’ve met here. Between my job and the athletic community, everybody is really warm and lets you into the big community of athletes and students which have really helped my transition into college.

I grew up in Columbus, Wisconsin. I enjoy collecting records, listening to vinyl, hiking, photography, seeing birds, and watching Sir. David Attenborough on Planet Earth.

My favorite thing about Marian is my job with the Office of Marketing and Communications. I get to take pictures of athletics and gain new skills as I take video and capture events.

Next year, I’ll be a Resident Assistant in Courtyard 21, a housing unit on campus. There are a lot of different personalities and different sports represented in the people who live there but everybody seems to get along and everybody sticks together. It’s a good community.
