6.26.2018 – Faces of Marian: Lacey Lakin
“I’m from the small town of Hustler, Wisconsin. The biggest town near Hustler is Tomah. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point in 2004 with a degree in forest recreation management and minors in human resources and environmental law enforcement.
My husband is from Fond du Lac and works in the area. We moved here and I needed a job. I saw the Marian job online. I had a lot of customer service experience so I applied. I’ve now been here since October, 2016.
I am the front line in the Office of Financial Aid. I work with students, answering their questions about financial aid and completing their forms and/or documents. I also serve as a support to the counselors and coordinate student employment. Marian has a great community feel. We’re small and personal. I like that when I see people on campus, they actually say “Hi Lacey”…we know each other here. It’s a cool culture.
My advice to students is get involved, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and advocate for yourself. Those of us in Financial Aid are people too and we’re here to help.”
