5.15.2019 – Faces of Marian: Kylie Jorgensen
Kylie Jorgensen is a sophomore from Fairwater, Wisconsin majoring in writing. In her free time, she enjoys writing, acrylic painting, and creating commissions pieces to sell. She is a Dungeon Master for a group of Dungeons and Dragons players from her hometown and attends and makes props for cosplay conventions. She uses foam to make swords, staffs, headdresses, and hooves. She is also an avid crafter and loves to make decorations and jewelry.
Kylie chose Marian because it is one of very few universities that offers a writing degree that allows students to study both creative and non-fiction writing. She aspires to write a fiction book series and become the next J.K. Rowling. On campus, she is involved in SPECTRUM and Art Club and plays alto saxophone in the Marian Jazz Band. Her advice to students is “Step out of your comfort zone and test your limits whenever you can. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes or fail because that is all part of growing and bettering yourself.”
