Student Peter LaningPeter Laning is a junior from Waupun, Wisconsin majoring in history. He found his love of history at an early age and currently participates in reenactments of the War of 1812. His favorite historical reenactment sites are Villa Louis in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and Fort McHenry in Baltimore, Maryland. Besides history, he enjoys photography and hiking. He is the second of six children, and the third member of his family to attend Marian. On-campus, he is a member of Outdoor Adventure Club and Model United Nations.

Peter chose Marian because small class sizes makes it easier to get to know people. His advice to students is, “Don’t be afraid to get involved in campus clubs and other activities. To be completely honest, I wish I would have gotten involved with more clubs the moment I first stepped on campus.”
