student Nikita SokovNikita Sokov is a freshman majoring in business administration from Pervouralsk, Russia. His passion is hockey which he actively pursues at Marian through the Club Hockey team. In addition to enjoying the sport, he enjoys the sense of comradery of the team, finding value in the relationships he has formed with his teammates. Being so far from home, he misses his mom’s cooking, and his favorite dish is pancakes served with condensed milk on top. His family has a pet cat, but being a dog-person, he would rather have a white Labrador.

This sense of community is not limited to the hockey team. Nikita also finds it with students and professors throughout the entire campus. His advice to future and current students is “attend sporting events, especially hockey games. They are a great place to meet new people and relax in the evenings.”
