student Dan LiberkoDan Liberko is a freshmen, double majoring in sports/recreation management and management of information systems.

“I’m from Plymouth, Minnesota. I played 3 years of juniors (hockey) in Montana. At home, I work at Play It Again Sports as an advertising associate and marketing assistant. Also when I am home for the summer, I do landscape work and lawn care, as well as handyman work. I’ve been playing hockey since I was four years old. I also play baseball, lacrosse, and run cross county.

Here at Marian, I play on the ACHA club hockey team as a forward. Right now, our team is 11-4 and in the top two in the region. Our next home game is this Friday at 7pm, then we’re at it again on Saturday at 3pm. I work as a resident assistant (RA) in the Naber dorm. I also work at the pro shop in the local ice arena, Fond du Lac BlueLine Family Ice Center.

I like the small class sizes at Marian. Professors get to know you and take the time to meet with you and take the time and care about your success and opportunities. There are many resources here to help you out. People here care about the success of the students.

My advice to others is take advantage of what is here, get involved in things like student organizations, and go to activities. By going to things, you will meet people. Don’t be afraid to branch out. ASK FOR HELP! There is always someone here who wants to help you and set each student up for success.”
