Student Nicole ReinkeNicole Reinke is a sophomore special education/elementary-middle education double major.

“I’m from Bonduel, Wisconsin. I have two younger brothers, Mitchell and Spencer. When I’m at home, I like fishing – ice and in the summer – and hiking. I really enjoy the outdoors. I absolutely love spending time with my grandparents! They live in Pulaski.

High school was crazy busy. I grew up on a farm. Wake up, work on the farm, school, farm, etc.  Always something to do. I was also part of FFA and POPS. In POPS we organized events for special needs kids. I was also the varsity boys’ basketball team manager. I played basketball when I was younger, but realized playing the sport wasn’t for me, but I still wanted to be involved. Played rugby my senior year. I was a flanker and forward.

I like the small campus of Marian. It felt like my high school. It was familiar. My mom and aunt also pushed me to pursue a four-year degree. I like the smiling faces and positivity here.

I work in the financial aid office. I provide general customer service stuff. I’m also a Resident Assistant (RA) for the duplexes. I’m a member of the Marian Student Education Association (MSEA). I try to attend a variety of events on campus. I always look forward to basketball and baseball games. I’m looking forward to lacrosse.

My advice to students is to get real involved in activities on campus. Give a small campus a shot. Keep trying.”
