Position papers are a very useful preparation tool for Model UN Conferences. A position paper is basically a paper that outlines what your Member State wants to achieve at the conference.
Position Papers are not required. However, if they are submitted to us, we will give awards for any outstanding position papers.
To get an award, the position papers must be submitted to the above link on Friday Mar. 20 at 4:00pm.
Position papers should not exceed 2 pages in length and should have reasonable formatting. Otherwise, there are no official requirements. However, writing conventions, such as grammar and spelling, will be considered.
Tips:
Excellent position papers will include context about the topic, how your state feels about each topic, which topic it prioritizes, what your state has done in the past with each topic, what your state plans to do for each topic, and any relevant programs/ resolutions that your state has supported relating to the topic.
