Each November, we celebrate the holiday of giving thanks. We gather with our families and friends to engage in lively conversation, memory-sharing, and the simple act of being thankful for all life has to offer. After all the family togetherness, some participate in Black Friday shopping to make the most of their dollars, while others engage in the online shopping extravaganza known as Cyber Monday.
On the following Tuesday, a world-wide social media phenomenon occurs: #GivingTuesday. This global day of giving, fueled by social media and collaboration, sets the stage for charitable giving. Individuals around the world show their support for his or her favorite non-profit organizations, whether a nationally-known agency or something local to a community. Regardless, the giving is philanthropic in nature and appreciated by the recipient.
At Marian University, we, too, feel blessed to be the recipient of donations throughout the year. On this special day, #GivingTuesday, we ask our donors to consider a donation in the name of philanthropic endeavors. The support received during this social media event is allocated to Marian University’s Annual Fund.
The Annual Fund seeks financial support from both continued and growing donors. The Annual Fund aids in fostering and establishing a culture of donor and relationship-centered philanthropy.
The purpose of the annual fund is to:
- raise funds to support the greatest areas of need;
- increase awareness of the University within the local and broader communities;
- cultivate future partnerships for the University.
Gifts to the Annual Fund assist the University in living its vision – developing potential and enriching lives through teaching and learning—united in service for a just and humane world. Your donation has a BIG impact on future leaders today.
