The graduate student continues to implement the role of the adult-gerontology nurse practitioner. Using critical thinking, the student continues to develop decision-making and clinical management skills in caring for young adults, adults and older adults. The student utilizes data-gathering techniques with analysis in order to enhance, maintain, and restore health. Health education is emphasized. The student manages acute and chronic health problems in cooperation with a health care preceptor provider. Discussion of the practicum experiences with a focus on the client profile and role development occurs weekly. The areas of radiology, office procedures, cardiac emergencies and electrocardiograms will be addressed.
