(also BIO 206) This course will help students develop an ability to produce effective illustrations of scientific subject matter for science classes, displays, learning centers, slide lectures, publications, advertisements or other uses. The student also will gain an understanding of the differences between illustration and art, and of the importance of illustration as a form of communication. The students will increase their observational ability and will learn basic techniques of drawing in pen and ink, pencil and scratchboard, and will be introduced to airbrush.
