Marian University invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor Faculty position in Information Technology starting August 15, 2020. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education, student engagement and research, as well as service to the college and community. Marian University is an institution that values innovative teaching, advising and mentoring (advising and mentoring is expected of all faculty). Other related duties as assigned.

We are seeking an individual who will assist in the development and direction of the Information Technology Program at Marian University, working closely with local businesses to create experiential learning opportunities. Teaching responsibilities include four courses each semester as well as contributing to our adult and online program. Candidates should exhibit skill and enthusiasm in teaching undergraduates and developing innovative experiential learning opportunities in the surrounding community, and be willing to participate in all phases of departmental, divisional, and college activities.


Minimum Qualifications:

Ideal applicants will hold a terminal degree in Information Technology or a related field. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the potential to publish in high quality peer-reviewed academic journals. We will consider candidates who are pursuing a Ph.D. or are ABD in Information Technology or related field. The successful candidate will be able to develop and teach IT courses (e.g., programming, database, networks, security, systems analysis and design). An interest in teaching at the Master’s level is necessary. All candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.

ABD candidates with a firm completion date will be considered for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor. Previous teaching experience in the discipline required.
