We are seeking a dynamic, visionary program director for our graduate program in Thanatology who exudes entrepreneurial spirit; passion for the program and its students; and demonstrates a deep love of teaching, to assume duties beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year.

This uniquely human program was inspired and assisted at its birth by Dr. Edwin S. Shneidman, the founder of The American Association of Suicidology and author of “Voices Of Death” and “Deaths Of Man”. His passion and dedication to serve humanity during the challenges of the end of life period are at the core of our teachings.

The University offers both the Master of Science and the graduate certificate in Thanatology. Responsibilities shall include ensuring the successful execution and evolution of the program, developing program course schedules, hiring quality adjunct faculty, providing robust academic advising, and earnestly teaching an appropriate, to be determined, course load.

Applicants for this role should hold a doctoral degree with an emphasis in any area of death, dying, and bereavement, and demonstrate appropriate teaching, scholarship, and service to merit academic rank and placement on the tenure track and willingness to embrace the Mission and Core Values of Marian University.
