MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (WAICU) announces its 22nd annual Wisconsin Private College Week, July 9 – 14, 2018. Prospective students and their families are invited to attend special events at campuses across the state.

“The college search process can sometimes feel daunting to students and their families,” said WAICU President Rolf Wegenke. “This joint open house event takes a lot of stress out of the equation by enabling families to visit and compare colleges on a fun-filled road trip during the summer.” He emphasized to students that “there is no ‘best college’ but there is a college that is best for you” – the best college choice will vary from student to student, and it is all about finding the right fit.

Wisconsin’s private, nonprofit colleges and universities offer educational advantages including a 64% higher chance of graduating in four years, an average class size of just 16 students, and many scholarship and financial aid opportunities. During Wisconsin Private College Week, visitors will have the chance to attend information sessions, tour campuses, meet with admissions counselors, and connect with current students. The student event evaluation form will serve as an entry into a contest to win one of two iPads – the more campuses visited, the greater the chances of winning.
