Marian University Admission Scholarships are guaranteed for four years as long as the student maintains a cumulative 2.0 GPA or better and remains a full-time student. Admission Scholarships are not based on financial need or athletic ability. Additional scholarships, not admission related, may be available to students based on academic interest, program participation and the like. Students who submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ may be eligible for additional financial assistance.

ADDITIONAL GRANTS

Brother Bob Smith Scholarship

Award: $6,000 per academic year

Criteria: Graduating senior students who attended Messmer High School in Milwaukee with at least a 2.5 GPA. Qualified students will also receive a Sr. Mary Sheila Burns Award for $4,000 per academic year. Recipients of the Brother Bob Scholarship are not eligible for other Marian University merit scholarships.

CSA Legacy

Award: $2,000 per academic year

Criteria: Graduating senior students whose aunt, great-aunt or grandmother are or were a member of the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes are eligible for a CSA Legacy Award. The Sister should be listed on the student’s Application for Admission and is awarded at the time of admission. Qualified students may get this award in addition to the Marian University merit scholarships/awards.

Early Sabre Award

Award: $500 per academic year

Criteria: Students must apply and be admitted to Marian University prior to November 1 of their senior year to be eligible.

Family Discount

Award: $1,000 per academic year

Criteria: Dependent students who have a dependent sibling or parent that is currently enrolled at Marian full time in the traditional daytime program are eligible for a Family Discount. The Discount is credited by the Business Office to each student at the start of each semester. Students must complete the FAFSA to be eligible.

Holy Redeemer Grant (Young Coggs Prep)

Award: $11,000 per academic year

Criteria: Graduating senior students who are active in the Holy Redeemer Church of God in Christ congregation in Milwaukee with at least a 2.8 GPA. Recipients of the Holy Redeemer Grant are not eligible for other Marian University merit scholarships.

Kenosha Unified School District Achievement Scholarship

Award: $11,000 per year, Application

Criteria: Students must be current year graduates from Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD), possess a solid college preparatory background, complete a KUSD Scholarship Application and be admitted to Marian University. Typically, students will demonstrate their potential for success through strong academic achievement (3.0 GPA or better) and examples of outstanding leadership and/or community involvement. Recipients of the KUSD Achievement Scholarship are not eligible for other Marian University merit scholarships or the KUSD/Marian University Teacher Education Scholarship.

Kenosha Unified School District/Marian University Teacher Scholarship

Award: $12,000 per year, Application

Criteria: Kenosha Unified School District (KUSD) students interested in becoming a K-12 teacher are considered for this scholarship. Recipients will complete their studies in one of Marian’s teacher education programs, have the opportunity to student teach in the KUSD and may be offered a letter of intent for a full-time position in the KUSD following graduation and successful completion of the DPI licensure requirements.

To be considered for this scholarship, students must be current year graduates from KUSD, possess a solid college preparatory background, complete a KUSD Scholarship Application, and be admitted to Marian University. Typically, students will demonstrate their potential for success through strong academic achievement (3.5 GPA or better) and examples of outstanding leadership and/or community involvement. Changing majors, outside of the education department, will result in forfeiture of this scholarship. Recipients of the KUSD/Marian University Teacher Education Scholarship are not eligible for other Marian University merit scholarships or the KUSD Achievement Scholarship.

Legacy Scholarship

Award: $1,000 per academic year

Criteria: Graduating senior whose parents, grandparents or siblings graduated from Marian are eligible for a Legacy Award. The Marian graduate should be listed on the student’s Application for Admission and is awarded at the time of admission. Qualified students may get this award in addition to the Marian University merit scholarships/awards.

Out of State Grant

Award: $2,000 per academic year

Criteria: Students who reside in a US state outside of Wisconsin and enroll at Marian University of Wisconsin.

Eligible students will receive the Out of State Grant in addition to merit based scholarships offered through the Marian University admission process. Marian University scholarships are not based on financial need or athletic ability. Our scholarships are guaranteed until graduation as long as the student maintains a minimum 2.0 GPA and remains a full-time student.

Partnership School Grants

Award: $11,000 per academic year

Criteria: Senior students who are graduating from a listed partnership school. Students must have at least a 2.8 GPA and enroll at Marian the fall after their high school graduation to receive the grant. Recipients of the partnership school grants are not eligible for other Marian University merit scholarships.

Pre-College Program Award

Award: $500-$1,000 per academic year

Criteria: Graduating senior students who completed a Marian academic camp prior to enrolling at Marian. The award amount is pre-determined by the camp/program. Qualified students may get this award in addition to the Marian University merit scholarships/awards.

Outside scholarships

Scholarship opportunities may exist through your community involvements, places of employment and other organizations. If you receive a scholarship from an organization outside of Marian, be sure to notify the Office of Financial Aid in order for the scholarship(s) to be included on your financial aid award.

For students who are already enrolled at Marian, additional scholarship opportunities are available.
