International Graduate Student Requirements
Items required before applicant information is ready for review:
- Application
- Official course-by-course transcript evaluation (required for all courses taken outside of the U.S. and Canada)
- Official transcripts from all schools attended in the United States, if applicable
- A bachelor’s degree is required for those applying for a master’s degree, while a master’s degree is required for those applying for admission to the Ph.D. program
- One of the following English Proficiency Results:
- TOEFL (Minimum Score: IBT 70, CBT 193, PBT 525)
- IELTS (Minimum Score: 6.0)
- SAT or ACT (Canada only)
- STEP/EIKEN (Level 1 Completion for students whose native language is Japanese))
- WESLI (Level 700 Completion; plus a letter of recommendation)
- Spring International Language Center (Advanced Level 6 Completion)
- Successful completion of one year at a U.S. college/university
If prior degrees or university academic work has been completed outside of the United States, the applicant will need to use an outside credentials evaluation service and have a course-by-course evaluation completed. Please provide an official evaluation of your transcripts by a NACES-approved accredited credential evaluation agency:

International applicants must submit all required documents by May 1 for the fall semester or October 1 for the spring semester. Upon admission, international students must also submit proof of financial support to be used during the period of study before an I-20 form will be issued.
