International Student Requirements for Adult Programs & Graduate Admission

Marian University welcomes international students in our Adult and Graduate studies programs. Applicants should submit their application documents, including the following:

1)    Official Course-by-Course Transcript Evaluation

If you have attended a college or university outside of the U.S. we also require official copies of your academic records. Note that we do not evaluate foreign credit for transfer to Marian University.  You will need to use an outside credentials evaluation service and have a course-by-course evaluation completed.  Please provide an official evaluation of your transcripts by an accredited credential evaluation agency such as:

2)    English Proficiency Examination Results

All applicants are required to demonstrate proof of English language proficiency.  Official score reports must be forwarded to Marian University directly from the testing agency. Marian accepts the following English proficiency examinations:

  • TOEFL score of at least 70 (IBT) 193 (CBT) or 525 (PBT)
  • IELTS score of at least 6.0
  • ACT/ SAT results (Canada Only)
  • STEP/EIKEN  completion of Level 1 (Japan Only)
  • Completion of WESLI level 700; plus letter of recommendation
  • Completion of Spring International Language Center Advanced Level 6
  • Successful completion of 1 year (approximately 30 credits) at a U.S. college or university

Proof of Finances

In order for Marian University to issue an I-20 form, proof of finances must be completed to prove sufficient financial resources for educational expenses incurred by attending Marian University.

Applicants seeking to attend Marian University and require the I-20 Form for an F-1 student visa and/or to maintain their F-1 Visa status must submit the following items:

  • Affidavit of Financial Support Form with your sponsor’s information and signature
  • Current bank statement or letter from bank showing available funds for financial sponsor
