Steve graduated from Ripon College in 2011, where he studied Communication, and played baseball for 4 years. Steve earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education Counseling, while coaching at Lakeland University.
Since joining Marian University in 2014, Steve has had the pleasure of working with students from Illinois as well as three counties in Wisconsin (Manitowoc, Ozaukee, Sheboygan). Steve dedicates his time to assuring students have a comfortable and fun admission experience, all while discovering the great opportunities at Marian.
In his free time, Steve enjoys exercising, attending concerts, and athletic events.
Jody Hartzell earned a Bachelor’s degree in Geography from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Hartzell worked in Marian’s Office of Admission from 1989-1995. She returned to Marian in 2000 as the Director of Transfer Admission and has had the pleasure of working with many transfer, readmit and international students and their families.
I was born and raised in Pontiac, MI. I attended Lakeland University, graduating in 2016 with a degree in Communication with an Emphasis on Rhetoric and Public Communication. I was a 4 year varsity football player at Lakeland Playing outside linebacker and was a part of various organizations across campus including Beta Sigma Omega Fraternity Inc.. Post-graduation I worked as an IT recruiter for TEKsystems for a year, then went over to Exact Sciences as a Inside Sales rep for another year before join the Marian Family.
Shannon LaLuzerne is a two time graduate of Marian University, and serves as the Dean of Admission and brings more than 20 years of experience in working in admission and recruitment.
LaLuzerne has worked with and coordinated the College Seminar Tour for more than 15 years and has been a part of the Wisconsin Association of College Admission Counseling (WACAC) as a past President and a Professional Development Chair.
Megan graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh and earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education Counseling in 2008 from Lakeland College. She has the pleasure of working with students and families from the Fox Valley region and introducing them to all that Marian and Fond du Lac have to offer.
Megan greatly enjoys working with students and having the opportunity to be a part of their pivotal years as they continue to grow, mature, graduate, and head into the job market.
In her free time, Megan enjoys attending Fond du Lac’s Walleye Weekend and Race the Lake, as well as dining at Backyard Grill.
Jackie earned her Radiography degree from Moraine Park Technical College in 2013, but decided to make a career change a few years later which led her to Marian University. She serves as the Coordinator of Enrollment Operations for Undergraduate Admission. Her main focuses are to process freshman and transfer applications, and maintain documentation in related databases. Jackie brings 15+ years of administrative experience to the team, many new ideas, and an excessive amount of organizational skills. She’s dedicated to ensuring processes at Marian are student-centered, and excited to be a part of helping new students as they embark on their college journey.
Ashley graduated from Marian University in 2013 with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. Since joining the Marian family in 2018, she has the pleasure of working with student athletes and showing them everything Marian and Fond du Lac has to offer. Ashley is thrilled to be back home and seeing students enjoy Marian as much as she did as a student.
She and her husband, Ryan, along with their black lab, Harley, live in Fond du Lac.
Anna graduated from Marian University in 2013, where she studied Early Childhood-Elementary Education. Anna earned a Master of Arts in Higher Education Counseling, at Lakeland University in 2016.
Anna is happy to be back at Marian University helping other students enjoy their time and experience here as much as she did.
Ben Soman has worked at Marian since 2001. He is originally from Fennimore and attended Marian as an undergraduate from 1997-2001, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication. He has worked in both the Office of Admission and the Office of Financial Aid and enjoys giving presentations on both subjects.
He and his wife, Noel, live in Fond du Lac. He enjoys traveling and baseball and attempts to combine the two passions at least once a year.
