The position of Controller promotes and supports the learning experience of Marian University students by controlling and maintaining accurate, timely, clear and concise financial information in accordance with GAAP and overall management of the Business Office staff.  The essential functions of the position include preparation of reports for internal and external financial records; preparation daily, monthly, annual and other periodic financial statements and reports; managing and coordinating the annual audit; working with the Vice President for Business and Finance to develop short term and long term goals for the department.

The qualified candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a relevant field, CPA desired.  Ten years’ progressive experience in accounting operations management preferably with an understanding of non-profit accounting and reporting, including federal and state grant reporting requirements.  Experience coordinating external audits is a plus.   Willingness to support the Mission and Core Values of the University.
