Campus Life

Marian University Campus Life

Making memories on the Marian University campus happens both in and out of the classroom.   While our campus may be compact, we have an active student community.  Whether meeting for dinner, attending a sporting event, or having a study session with your dorm buddies, your days will be full of activities that interest you.

Check out our FacebookTwitter, and Instagram accounts to see what’s all happening on campus.

Dining

If you’re looking for coffee, a sandwich, and a place to relax and enjoy them, visit Marian’s coffeehouse, featuring Sammies Honest Sandwiches. Located in the Todd Wehr Alumni Center, this popular meeting place also hosts special events such as musicians, comedians, and academic discussions throughout the year. Dining points, case and debit/credit cards are accepted.

Campus Safety and Community Standards

Marian University cares deeply about the community and its safety.  The Campus Safety and Security and the Community Standards Officers work hard to provide a sense of safety and belonging for all our students and guests.

One of the most important factors to achieving academic success is feeling safe in your environment. We encourage everyone in the community to contact Security or emergency personnel if they see something that hinders a safe and comfortable environment.

The Office of Campus Safety and Security is located in the Hornung Student Center in the main entryway.

  • Campus Safety patrols the camps via vehicle, golf cart and on foot 24 hours a day.
  • The Marian Sabre Central is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. with varying hours during breaks and holidays, and is in constant communication with Campus Safety.
  • Student employees in Naber Hall monitor hall traffic in the evenings.

Contact Marian Sabre Central at 920-923-8555, or contact Campus Safety and Security directly at 920-923-8950.

Marian University is guided by our core values and the human dignity statement.  These words inform how we expect our student community to behave and learn and grow while on our campus and beyond.

The Marian community strives to uphold the dignity of every person and to confront challenges to that dignity. The University does not tolerate inappropriate use of power or authority by its members, nor does the University condone any other violation of human dignity. Marian University addresses violations of human dignity through the codes and processes listed in this handbook.

These behavioral codes, as listed in here and in the Student Handbook, govern the conduct of members of the University community. Rules emphasizing the importance of human dignity and practices that promote appropriate respect for individuality and basic human rights are intended to encourage the Marian University community to incorporate such values into interactions with all persons, whether members of the Marian community or the larger society.

The full Student Handbook with the entire code of conduct and process for investigating and responding to potential code violations can be found here.

Things to Do

Sure, Fond du Lac is a small community – just more than 43,000 residents call it home – but the things happening on campus are BIG.

Whether it’s cheering on one of our 21 NCAA sports or four club teams, attending a stand-up or musical performance, participating in a student organization, going to one of our many annual celebrations, or venturing out beyond our campus borders, there’s something for everyone to keep busy.

Our 78-acre residential campus is located just an hour’s drive from Madison, Milwaukee, and Green Bay, while downtown Fond du Lac offerings the fun of boutiques, a rich offering of museums, galleries, and restaurants, and Lake Winnebago – Wisconsin’s largest lake surrounded by 137,708 acres of land – serves as our very own four-season backyard playground.

And don’t forget the Dock Spiders, a Northwoods League semi-pro baseball team whose stadium right across the street from campus attracts an average of nearly 3,000 visitors each week.
