Marian University professor to present research at the Society for Invertebrate Pathology Summer Meeting

FOND DU LAC, Wis.- Dr. Susan Bornstein-Forst, professor of Biology, will present her research findings on "Increased infectivity in Steinernema websteri IJ after development in desiccation-stressed hosts" at the annual meeting of the Society for Invertebrate Pathology, taking place in Pittsburgh in August.

Dr. Bornstein-Forst's research presentation will present is part of her studies on insect-killing roundworms used to control agricultural insect pests. The research was performed in collaboration with two Marian students, Andrea Binnebose and David Easterholf, Ph.D. Binnebose is a Ph.D. candidate at Iowa State University and Dr. Easterhoff is a postdoctoral fellow at Duke University.


Fun Fact

Dorcas Chapel was built in 1966 and named for the seamstress Dorcas who shared her talents with Saint Paul. The chapel was designed to look like a sewing basket with the cross on top portraying a needle (Source: Marian University Archives).
