FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Marian University will host its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Interfaith Prayer Breakfast on Monday, January 21, 2013 from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. in the Sodexo Dining Room in the Stayer Center.
The program features interfaith prayers, a guest speaker, a musical presentation and the presentation of the 2013 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Spirit Award.
Reggie Parson, '13 from Chicago, IL will be the guest speaker. Mr. Parson is a senior at Marian University majoring in Homeland Security. He is involved in multiple organizations on campus including McNair Scholars Program, Student Support Services Family Ties Mentor and the Student Review Board. His plans after graduation include attending graduate school and majoring in political science. Mr. Parson will share his Marian story and how Dr. King has inspired his journey.
Honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. has been a tradition of Marian University and the Fond du Lac community. Together, we reflect how his dreams continue to provide inspiration, as this is a day of interracial and intercultural sharing.
This event is open to the public; however, registration is requested. The cost is $12 for an individual or $95 for a table of eight. The cost for those who are not registered will be $15 at the door. The deadline for registration is January 14, 2013.
Participants attending the breakfast are asked to bring a monetary gift or non-perishable food items to the breakfast. All items will be given to the Fond du Lac Food Pantry.
