Marian University names Olig as January Sabre of the Month

January 18, 2012

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Marian University has named Lisa Olig, coordinator of Disability Services and Academic Support, as its January Sabre of the Month.

“I am blessed in many ways to be part of the Marian University community, however, I believe the best part of my role is the meaningful relationships I get to build with students,” Olig says. “Most often, I begin working with students as they transition during their freshman year and continue working with them through to graduation. By the time a student graduates, we have celebrated many personal, academic and career achievements, and worked through many difficulties and challenges.”

Olig is in her seventh year at Marian, and says that the most satisfying part of her job is seeing students successfully reach the end of their academic journeys.

“The most rewarding experience I’ve had at Marian is watching students I’ve worked with walk across the stage at graduation!” Olig says.

The Sabre of the Month Employee Recognition Program honors faculty and staff who exemplify the Marian University core values – community, learning, service, social justice and spiritual traditions.
