Friedman to present “CSI for the Defendant” at Marian University

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — The Marian University McNair Scholars Program will be hosting a presentation on crime scene investigation on Wednesday, February 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Stayer Center Auditorium.

The presentation, “CSI for the Defendant: Steven Avery and the Halbach Murder Trials,” will feature keynote speaker Alan Friedman, Ph.D., forensic DNA consultant.

Dr. Friedman will focus on forensic investigative techniques, the ethical challenges of working for defendants and the coarse nature of the evidence in the State of Wisconsin vs. Steven Avery murder trials.

Dr. Friedman received his doctoral degree from the University of Chicago. A former biology professor at Marquette University, Dr. Friedman currently serves as the president of Helix Biotech, a company that performs DNA analysis for criminal and civil trials.
