Marian University student art featured in International Expressive Arts Therapy Association newsletter

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - Erin Werner's artwork was published in the newsletter of the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association.

Werner, a psychology major from Fond du Lac and a spring 2009 graduate of Marian University, was a student in Introduction to Expressive and Therapeutic Arts class in the spring of 2009 under the instruction of Leah Klapperich, director of Expressive and Therapeutic Arts.

Werner's art work, entitled "Out of the Darkness" was featured in the second edition of the newsletter. Her life-sized mixed media drawing, resulted from a body-scan meditation class project. The project is a centering practice meant to help students get in touch with their emotions and become comfortable with inner self-dialogue.

The International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA) is anon-profit, professional organization founded in 1994 to promote professional excellence and standards of practice in the field of expressive arts.
