Marian University Presents for Pediatrics collects more than 700 gifts for hospitalized kids

FOND DU LAC, Wis. - The seventh annual School of Nursing Presents for Pediatrics campaign collected more than 700 gifts for children in Wisconsin hospitals. The gifts were delivered on December 18.

Each holiday season, the School of Nursing and the Student Nurses Association (MUSNA) collect toys, stuffed animals and other requested gifts and deliver them to St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in Milwaukee and Neenah. The gifts, either donated gifts or purchased through monetary donations, were donated directly to the hospitals'pediatric units.

Presents for Pediatrics focuses on children who are suffering from an acute or chronic illness during the holidays. The children are separated from friends and family and are in a new and often frightening environment. The goal of Presents for Pediatrics is to be a positive contribution to hospitalized individuals and their families. Even the littlest gift - a board game, an ar tkit, or a stuffed bunny - can bring smiles to faces that are often in the midst of major life challenges.

Suggested Cutline: MUSNA gives Presents for Pediatrics, Heather Evenson (RN at St. Agnes), Nancy Noble, Melissa Zwetow, Sarah Halfmann, Emily Boldt, Stephanie Carlson, Jada Cepress and Ann Sorgent (St. Agnes).
