TRiO/McNair Scholars Program
About the Program
The McNair Scholars Program, also known as the Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program, is one of the Federal TRIO programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education. It is specifically designed to prepare participants for graduate studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities. This program has been established in 1986 and named in honor of Challenger space shuttle astronaut Ronald E. McNair, Ph.D. It aims to promote and nurture the next generation of faculty, researchers, and scholars across the United States.
This program has served more than 40 Marian University students since October 2007, under the leadership of Susan Bornstein-Forst, Ph.D. She is assisted by the dedicated members of Team McNair. So far, a growing number of McNair Alumni from Marian University have been pursuing their graduate degrees at several institutions.
Future Scholars
The McNair Scholars Program is a select and competitive program seeking top scholars who demonstrate sound academic performance, strong potential for graduate school achievement, and a desire to pursue a career in which a doctorate is required.
