McNair Scholars Program
Inspired to achieve more, the McNair Scholars Program, also known as the Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program, is one of the Federal TRIO programs funded by the U.S. Department of Education. It is specifically designed to prepare participants for graduate studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities while still earning their undergraduate degree. Established in 1986 in honor of Challenger space shuttle astronaut Ronald E. McNair, Ph.D., this program aims to promote and nurture the next generation of faculty, researchers and scholars across the United States.
