Director's Message

Marian University is proud to be one of several hundred recipients of federally funded Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement (McNair) program awards in excess of $1.1 million.  This program established and named in honor of Challenger space shuttle astronaut Ronald E. McNair, Ph.D. is underwritten by The Department of Education.  It is specifically designed to prepare students for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities.  McNair participants are from disadvantaged backgrounds and have demonstrated strong academic potential.

The Marian University McNair Scholars Program is dedicated to helping participants complete their undergraduate requirements, encourage their entrance into graduate programs, and track their progress through to their successful completion of advanced degrees.  The goal of McNair is to increase the attainment of doctoral degrees by students in all disciplines from underrepresented segments of society. To find out more about eligibility requirements for our Program please use the associated links for Eligibility Requirements  and Application in this website.

My name is Susan Bornstein-Forst, Ph.D., and I am both the Program Director and a professor in the Biology department.  The program office is currently located in Building 96 on South National Avenue, right across the Stayer Center parking lot.  You can reach each of us by telephone or e-mail at the contact information found at the bottom of this page.   We are Team McNair.

This website will provide information for many different activities and connect you to other agencies on our campus.  Please navigate through the links on the far left pane for additional information about the McNair Program. Feel free to contact us or come over and visit us.
