Why choose the Chemistry Program?Chemistry student

An undergraduate Chemistry degree is designed to produce graduates who are confident, knowledgeable, and well prepared to meet the challenges and demands encountered by the professional chemist. Chemistry, available as a major or minor, prepares students for entrance into the chemical industry, medical technology, and graduate and medical schools in such areas as osteopathic, veterinary, dental, and pharmacy. Chemistry graduates also go on to teach science in middle and secondary schools (see Middle–Secondary Education). As our society accelerates into a technology-oriented economy, job opportunities for Chemistry majors are increasing.

Why make it Marian?

With a background rich in the liberal arts, Marian’s Chemistry program strives to instill an understanding of and appreciation for chemical phenomena. Chemistry majors take what they are learning in the classroom and apply it in internships, cooperative learning experiences and research projects. You will have valuable experiences to add to your résumé and graduate school applications. Additionally, 98 percent of our Chemistry graduates find jobs or are admitted to the graduate school of their choice. Science faculty at Marian create a positive learning environment and work with students to help them reach their full potential.
