Why Homeland Security?

Homeland security is an exciting, multi-faceted, rapidly-expanding discipline in today’s complex, high-threat world.  The field is critically short skilled professionals to meet current and future employment needs at local, state and Federal government levels, as well as in the private sector.

Marian’s homeland security curriculum covers a range of topics that prepare graduates to succeed in the challenging homeland security environment.  Subjects include terrorism and its genesis, emergency management, sociological aspects of terrorism and disasters, critical infrastructure protection, political and legal aspects of homeland security policy, organizational management and leadership, intelligence, research fundamentals, and much more.

Why Marian?

Whether just beginning college or continuing study toward a degree or certificate, Marian offers several flexible options that accommodate the full time student or the working professional.  Classes available either fully online, in a hybrid online/classroom combination, or in a traditional classroom, allow students to realize their educational goals while using a flexible schedule and a learning environment that best suits their needs.

For those with undergraduate credits from other schools or from military service, Marian offers robust transfer credit.  Particularly, those with coursework or an Associate’s Degree from the Wisconsin State Technical College system Fire Protection/Science, Emergency Management, or Criminal Justice programs have added transfer credit benefits.

Last, Marian has built a top-notch team of instructor-practitioners that use their real-world experience and developmental instruction to foster students’ critical-thinking and analytical skills in the historical liberal arts tradition.

Take the challenge.  Begin pursuing studies in homeland security.  Contact an Admissions counselor today!
