Health Care Administration

Why choose Health Care Administration?

The Health Care industry is facing rapid change.  Trends include increasing pressure for accountability, increasing costs, changing technology and changing demographics such as an aging population.  This is taking place in a multitude of settings including clinics, health insurance organizations, hospitals, nursing homes, and skilled nursing facilities.

There is a growing need for health care professionals to manage the business side of health care in an era of increasing accountability, increasing costs, and rapid change.

The health care administration (HCA) program provides preparation for the entry-level professional in an expanding and increasingly complex health care system.  It recognizes the growing need for individuals prepared to administer health care enterprises in a time of change.

Students will combine coursework in HCA with education in a functional area for entry level specialization and competency.  Possible functional areas include accounting, general business administration, finance, human resources, information technology, management, marketing, and sport & recreation management.

Why make it Marian?

A bachelor’s degree in business from Marian University prepares you for your first professional work experience following graduation.  The program provides a solid understanding of all facets of business, including management, marketing, accounting, economics, information systems, finance, and law.

Marian’s School of Business provides students with: courses that integrate real business challenges into classroom learning; internships and cooperative work experiences in your field of interest; an approach designed to teach you the skills necessary to compete in the business world of the future - creativity, critical thinking, communication, cultural awareness, and computer knowledge.
