School of Education Commissioning Ceremony

The School of Education Commissioning Ceremony is a “rite to passage” into the teaching profession for graduating education students. Each student will receive a specially designed pin that symbolizes the educator’s responsibility to promote and respect life and to always search for truth in promoting learning.

School of Nursing and Health Professions Pinning Ceremony

Sadoff Gymnasium – Marian University Campus
The School of Nursing Pinning Ceremony is a special event for graduates of the BSN and MSN degree programs as we celebrate their commitment to compassionate care in the tradition of Marian nursing graduates. BSN and MSN graduates will receive pins from Marian University. MSN students who ordered hoods may have them blessed at the Pinning Ceremony.

President’s Champagne Reception

Graduates and guests are invited to a reception following the ceremony. 

Marian University is proud to welcome graduates and their guests to an outdoor commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 14. In case of inclement weather graduates will be split into two ceremonies based on their School. A final decision regarding the location of the commencement ceremony will be announced in the days prior to Saturday, May 14 to allow for preparation.

Family and friends of all faiths are welcome to join members of Marian University Class of 2015-2016, faculty, staff and community in a Mass of thanksgiving. There will not be assigned seating or special attire. Graduates, families and friends are invited to sit together.

-Information for robing rooms will be posted in the Stayer Center Atrium. Graduates need to arrive to their robing rooms no later than 10:15 a.m.
2:00 p.m. - School of Education and School of Nursing and Health Professions
-Information for robing rooms will be posted in the Stayer Center Atrium. Graduates need to arrive to their robing rooms no later than 1:15 p.m.  


Wristband Policy

Marian University maintains a wristband policy for inclement weather commencement ceremonies. Guests will need a YELLOW wristband, to be provided in the Graduation packets, in order to enter the gymnasium. Graduates may request up to FOUR yellow wristbands. Guests without wristbands will be able to watch a live stream of the ceremony in the Stayer Center Auditorium, Administration Building 100, Administration Building 200, Science Building 100 and the Hornung Student Center. Guests with handicapped tickets will still need a yellow wristband to enter the gymnasium.  The ceremonies can also be viewed online http://portal.stretchinternet.com/marianwiadmin/#

--Regalia and graduation packets not picked up at Countdown to Commencement may be picked up at the site you indicated on your order form or from Duplex 54 on the Fond du Lac Campus. Items may be picked up according to the schedule below:

Did You Know?
