Finally! The time has come! I'm leaving for Sydney tomorrow and I couldn't be more excited! I will get to see the famous Sydney Opera House and walk in the historic Darling Harbour. I will be staying in a hostel that is about a 10 minutes walk from the harbour and about a block away from Chinatown. I will be able to see plenty of different aspects of varying cultures by staying there. I am planning to visit the Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Harbour, Manly Beach and taking a jet boat trip in the harbour!
While speaking of hostels, you can't help but think about backpackers. I saw a couple of them today and could not help myself; I had to talk to them. As it turns out, they were from Berlin, Germany, and were about two weeks into their journey. While in staying in a hostel, I can only hope that I meet people making the same journey all around Australia. Sydney is apparently "backpacker central" down under, and I look forward to hearing stories from around the world!
This past weekend was relatively relaxed. Katie and I trekked out to Burleigh Heads Beach and National Park, on an expedition to discover some places to see, and to take some photos for our photography class. We captured some great photographs of the Surfer's Paradise skyline, crashing waves, and seriously huge rocks. I took the road less travelled by walking on the rocks instead of taking the trail back. Katie thought I was I was being "irresponsible" and that it was "against better judgement," but I called it an adventure and I emerged without a scratch.
As for news at Bond, I have been quite the hermit. With mid-semester assessments and exams coming up, I have been just completing homework, researching, and studying. Some of the pressure will be taken care of in the next two weeks when my current assessments are due and will be out of my hair.
Talk to you after Sydney!
