FOND DU LAC, Wis. — The finance program at Marian University’s School of Business sponsored a Finance Day. Professors James Gray and Katherine Schuessler accompanied seventeen students to Chicago to visit the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) and the Federal Reserve Bank.
At the CBOE, the group discussed options trading with former traders and CBOE board members Terry Boyle and Jesse Stamer. The group then toured the trading floor, and observed live trading in the pits.
The group attended a presentation at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago on the responsibilities and functions of the Federal Reserve System and then explored the Money Museum. This museum contains exhibits on the Federal Reserve, the economy and United States currency.
