Marian University to host Threat Liaison Officer Training

April 14, 2011

FOND DU LAC, Wis. — Marian University, in conjunction with the Wisconsin Statewide Information Center (WSIC) and the Southeastern Terrorism Alert Center (STAC), is pleased to offer the Threat Liaison Officer Program (TLO). The training program will take place on May 11 in Marian University’s Stayer Center.

The TLO Program was created to form a regional partnership capable of coordinated and focused response to acts of crime, terrorism and manmade or natural threats based on information assessments and detailed planning. The Threat Liaison Officer Program provides for one or more points of contact within partner agencies to act as conduits for information to and from the WSIC or STAC. It functions as the eyes and ears of the fusion centers in the field. Each TLO is trained to recognize and identify potential terrorist activity and proper actions to take.

This 8-hour training session is free to the first 75 registrants and is geared toward professionals working in emergency management & preparedness, EMS, police or sheriff’s departments, fire departments, hospitals, critical infrastructure, major sporting venues, educational institutions and large retail/mall management.
